The TELL MAMA report for 2014/2015 is to be released this Thursday in conjunction with Teesside University who independently assess the TELL MAMA data and who draft up their report on our data.
The findings of the report shine a light on the state of anti-Muslim hate in England, Wales and Scotland, that has been reported to us by individuals who have suffered anti-Muslim bigotry. Επί πλέον, whilst cases have been reported to us, TELL MAMA has assessed each case based on evidence and some cases have not been classed as being anti-Muslim in nature. This ability to assess each and every case whilst supporting victims is essential in ensuring that we are accurate in the recording of the data.
Anti-Muslim hate continues to be an issue that affects Muslim men and women in our country. It is a sad reality, yet we must always remember that whilst we are picking up a small section of what may be taking place, there are others who need support to have the confidence to report in. We must also add that we have also heard stories from victims regarding members of the public who have come to their assistance to support and help them, many of whom have been non-Muslims. We believe that it is testament to the unique nature of people on this island who regularly stand up for what is right and who detest seeing people targeted because of their identities.
